How Case Battles Works
Case battles are PvP competitions where players open the same cases head-to-head. The player (or team) with the highest total item value wins everything.
How to Play
- 1
Choose your cases
Select which cases will be opened in the battle. You can pick multiple cases per round for multi-round battles.
- 2
Set the battle mode
Choose between 1v1, 1v1v1, 1v1v1v1, 2v2 team battles, or group mode. You can also enable Crazy Mode for extra volatility.
- 3
Wait for opponents
Your battle appears in the lobby. Other players (or bots) can join. The battle starts once all slots are filled.
- 4
Cases are opened simultaneously
Each player opens the exact same cases. Outcomes are determined by provably fair seeds unique to each player.
- 5
Highest total value wins
The player (or team) with the highest combined item value across all rounds wins every item from all participants.
Odds & House Edge
Case battles use the same house edge as the underlying cases being opened. There is no additional battle fee — the platform edge comes entirely from the case economics (typically 10% for community cases).
In team modes (2v2), each team's total is the sum of both teammates' items. In Crazy Mode, all items from all players are pooled and the winner takes the entire pool.
For a full breakdown of house edge across all game modes, see our What Are the Odds? page.
Provably Fair
Every case battles outcome on CaseRush.gg is determined using our provably fair system. Before each round, a server seed hash is published. After the round, the full server seed is revealed so you can independently verify the result was not manipulated.
The system uses HMAC-SHA256 with a combination of server seed, client seed, and nonce to generate verifiable random outcomes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a fee to create a battle?
No. The only cost is the price of the cases selected. The house edge is built into the case pricing, not as a separate battle fee.
What happens if there is a tie?
In the rare event of an exact tie, the winner is determined by the provably fair seed — effectively a random tiebreaker that can be verified.
Can I battle with bots?
Yes. If your battle isn't filling, you can add bots to fill empty slots. Bots play with the same provably fair system as human players.
What is Crazy Mode?
Crazy Mode pools all items from every player into one prize pool. The overall winner takes the entire pool instead of just the items from their side.
Are case battle outcomes provably fair?
Yes. Each player's case outcomes are determined by unique provably fair seeds. You can verify any battle round on the Provably Fair page.
